The Databook series “Vivre Card” continues to release updates with new Booster Packs, and the latest two are dedicated to two crucial moments in the One Piece storyline: "The geniuses of the future island, Egghead" and "The furious battle of the pirate island! Marines vs. Blackbeard." These updates offer both details already present in the manga and new additional information, including insights into the main characters and their powers, affiliations, and backgrounds. Here’s a detailed overview of the latest character cards.
Vegapunk and the Satellites
Dr. Vegapunk, known as "the man with the biggest brain in the world," is the brilliant scientist in charge of the SSG (Special Scientific Group of the Marines). Standing at an impressive height of 314 cm, Vegapunk hails from Bulgemore, on Karakuri Island in the Grand Line. Among his favorite foods are apple pie, coffee, and pasta. At 65 years old, the doctor possesses an incredible mind, enhanced by the power of the Devil Fruit Nomi Nomi, which grants him extraordinary cognitive abilities. His timeline reflects fundamental contributions to science, from his research on blood elements to the founding of the MADS group, to the creation of clones of himself two years ago and his relocation to Egghead.
Vegapunk has created six "satellites" that represent various aspects of his personality. These include:
Shaka (Logic): Serious and reflective, born two years ago but physically thirty years old.
Lilith (Evil): With a more aggressive character, she represents the more impulsive side of Vegapunk.
Edison (Thought) and Pythagoras (Knowledge): Both contribute to Vegapunk's intellectual and strategic side, sharing similar food preferences.
Atlas (Violence): Standing at a towering 729 cm, he has an energetic character and fights using brute force.
York (Desire): Represents the more hedonistic and lazy side of Vegapunk.
Members of CP0 and Rivals of the World Government
Among the members of CP0, notable characters include Rob Lucci and Stussy. Rob Lucci, a former member of CP9, has an awakened ability for the leopard fruit and a fearsome bounty. Stussy, known as the "Queen of the Pleasure District," uses the Bat Bat fruit (normal Zoan) and possesses both Observation and Armament Haki.
Other Important Characters and Allies of the Marines
Admiral Borsalino (Kizaru), linked to Vegapunk, is one of the prominent figures in the Marines with the Pika Pika fruit. His "neutral justice" and power represent the calculating side of the Marines. Monkey D. Garp, the hero of the Marines, stands out with his legendary strength and an imposing bounty of 3 billion berries imposed by the Cross Guild.
Koby, “the hero of the Marines,” has become one of the most promising young figures with Garp's support and his Observation and Armament Haki. Other noteworthy members include Helmeppo, Hibari, Kujaku, and Prince Grus, all members of SWORD, a secret team of the Marines.
Bartholomew Kuma and the Seraphim
Another central character is Bartholomew Kuma, the former Warlord of the Sea, known by his epithets "Tyrant King" and "Superhero." His bounty and past as the king of Sorbet make him a tragic but deeply respected character. Kuma also inspired the creation of the Seraphim, powerful clones equipped with Haki and artificial fruits. The Seraphim S-Snake, S-Hawk, S-Shark, and S-Bear are clones of legendary figures (including Hancock and Mihawk), enhanced by Green Blood that grants them abilities similar to the original fruits.
Former Allies of the World Government
Other interesting characters that have emerged include Kuzan (Aokiji), a former admiral of the Marines and now an ally of Teach (Blackbeard), who seems to maintain an ambiguous position, with a passion for Sherry wine and a relaxed demeanor.
EX Characters
The world of One Piece is also enriched by secondary figures, such as Gatherine, a cook at Enies Lobby, who rejected Jabra. Additionally, the family backgrounds of characters like Mizuira, Nico Robin's cousin, are explored, revealing her resentment towards Robin for past treatment.
The members of Bege's Germa Pirates are another interesting addition. Each member of this crew has a distinctive personality, from the Tynen brothers to Shikon Kettai, who spreads germs but avoids inflicting physical harm.
These new details from the Vivre Cards add layers of depth to the One Piece universe, highlighting not only the charisma of each character but also the vast web of relationships and events that make Oda's world so complex and rich.
